Why should you consider membership in the International Superyacht Society?

The International Superyacht Society was founded as a non-profit trade organization in 1989 and is the only international group whose sole purpose is to help the large luxury yacht industry grow worldwide. The top management of more than 80% of the major companies in the megayacht industry now participate in the Society. Your membership means that the Society is even stronger in its effectiveness because:

• Your perspectives are important and your voice should be heard by the industry at large.
• Your participation will help you do business better, because one of the Society's primary missions is to foster business-to business networking. At least one European and two USA major meetings are held each year.
• You will benefit from educational programs, awards, and other activities that help keep you informed.
• Your membership contribution is a public service to your industry.

What are the facts about membership?

The membership year goes from January 1 - December 31st. Usually a membership renewal campaign is conducted in the late summer, but we welcome members at any time. Membership fees are not pro-rated.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP - Individual members have voting status in all Society interests and are encouraged to participate in working committees, with organization of Society activities and by holding office on the board of directors. Individual members are further encouraged to promote the interests of the large yacht industry through sharing their thoughts with news/opinions in the Society's newsletter and bringing interested guests to Society meetings and symposia. Members are now able to vote for superyachts in the Design Awards nominations.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP - Open to qualified professionals (e.g. Naval Architects, Captains, Lawyers, Engineers etc) and specialists with more than 4 years experience in their declared speciality. These members will benefit from an enhanced website listing with descriptive text and recent project milestones/successes on ISS website. Includes a link to your own website.

CREW MEMBERSHIP - Qualified or serving from crew on vessels 25m + will be able to use the ISS crew hire bulletin board (web based) and will be eligible to benefit from a charitable trust currently being set up. In addition ISS is negotiating a personal insurance package for crew odd duty as part of membership to the ISS.

VESSEL MEMBERSHIP - Each superyacht can register as a member and will have a full listing on the ISS website that will include principal specifications, charter/sales information and a photo of the vessel. Crew will be eligible for associate member benefits.

COMPANY MEMBERSHIP - Similar to Professional and Vessel membership in that company specialisation and description with web link will be on www.superyachtsociety.com and also that employees will have associate member status. Companies who are members of the ISS will also be offered discounted advertising rates with certain publications.

• Rights to use Society logo, with approval, as supporting member.
• Direct Link from Superyacht Society's Website to other Member Websites.
• "Honor Roll" recognition in Society's publications and at meetings.
• Eligibility to sponsor projects and / or meetings of the Society, with attendant publicity.
• Eligibility for appointment to selected advisory boards of the Society.
