“Lady Lola” is a unique project that perfectly resume the design, technology and innovation capabilities of Oceanco, enhanced by the Owner continuous research for perfection. Lady Lola has been designed and built around key manufacturing principles:

Worldwide cruising with long-range capabilities

As privacy is very important to the Owners, the upper deck is a full private Owners’ deck that can be entirely closed off from the rest of the vessel. It includes a forward master stateroom with its panoramic 270-degree view and private balcony, as well as a 3,500-square-foot suite including a salon, an office and opening aft on a large covered private terrace.

The boat brings the outside in, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, sliding doors, and the elimination of internal barriers to the free flow of light, air and people.

Unique entertainment features such as the tender beach club, the pool with two-levels waterfall (first time on a yacht), the retractable golf tee that appears at the touch of a button (first time on a yacht), the outdoor cinema, the extendible table and the protected private dining area, on the Owners’ deck.

Maximisation of her interior decoration thanks to unbelievable material and furniture selection from François Zuretti, who worked in close cooperation with the Owner’s wife.

Design and innovation were the key elements of Lady Lola construction. By looking carefully at the lay-out, you will be able to understand all the specificities of Lady Lola and all the technical challenges the shipyard had to fulfil in terms of structure and engineering : large pool with overflow system ; golf system ; strong structure allowing a touch and go area on the fly bridge while keeping large glass panels on the deck below ; large aft swimming platform combined with a big garage allowing two tenders to be launched on starboard ; automatic ballast ; stabilisation at rest (zero speed).

Innovative lay-out : full Owners’ private deck on the upper deck, side dining room with large windows, wheelhouse and captain’s area (including a suite, an office and a salon) located on the main deck, amidships engine room, large stern garage, etc…

Entertainment innovation (outdoor cinema, golf, double waterfall pool, tender bay etc…)

Unbelievable attention to details inside and outside

Engine room and technical spaces finishes pushed to unsurpassed limit.

Dedicated storage and crew areas finished to the highest standard (china locker, crew gym,
dedicated Captain area with suite and salon)

Custom build tender to fit the Owner’s perception of perfection.

A lot of innovative design and engineering methods were used during the build of Lady Lola. Aside from decoration and entertainment details, the biggest technical challenge is the very big garage with a combination of stern and side doors. The garage area is unsupported (no pillar), the crane being part of the structure (breakthrough in engineering). The floodable tender bay area is used as ballast to overcome the list of the vessel to portside while unloading the tender. This allows the tender to be launched closed to the water while minimising crew exposure. Once launched the tender is easily accessible from the tender bay area for service, loading etc….

The Owners wished a new Motor Yacht with the following main characteristics :

One entire deck for his wife and himself, composed of a Suite, a Study, a Saloon and private exterior areas.

Large areas with windows and glazing as widest as possible.

One open upper deck, usable on all its length with specific areas to host any guest groups.

The decorative part had to perfectly match with the Motor Yacht’s general concept and focus on a large view over the exterior.

The Owners were attracted by the former Lady Lola’s decoration for its lamps and marquetry panels. He has just asked us to add a more Art Deco touch.

We have “swoothered” the preliminary project, treated the materials with a more contemporary interpretation : Galuchat, parchment and straw marquetry.

We have kept two wood species : Birch burl from Norway and dappled mahogany, a bicolor harmony mainly used in our design.

The curtains have worn away, the blue marbles invaded the spaces : Macaubas and Sodalith blue marble in the Owners’ apartment and exterior areas…
Only one cord made of mahogany underlining the cornice and framing the carpet, was kept from the previous Lady Lola’s decoration.

During the first presentation made at the Owners’ house, we felt there was such a similarity between the house’s interiors and the project, that it seemed it was the natural continuation of the Owners’ taste.

This stroke of luck and a perfect osmosis between all the teams have permitted the achievement of a challenge in 24 months.

François Zuretti
